Reassembly of Powerhead65 Proceed slowlyMake no forced assemblies unless press fits are called for and make no "dry" assembliesBe sure all parts to be assembled are clean and free from dirt and gritPerfectly good cylinder walls, pistons, and rings can be ruined in few minutes of operation unless all forms of grit are removed before assemblyWork in clean surroundings and with reasonably clean handsCoat all bearing surfaces, cylinder walls, etc with clean oil before assemblyWhere the use of oil is specified, we recommend 501 Outboard Lubricant

Always use new gaskets and seals throughout when reassembling the powerhead Apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to both sides of gaskets and to outside of metal cased sealsAlso apply to 0.0of temperature switch grommet and wires between grommet and switchMake certain all oil holes and passages are open

1The relative positions of pistons and connecting rods must be considered when assembling pistons to rod Oil hole in con necting rod must correspond with "UP" mark embossed on piston top
