eInspect water tube for clogging or kinksInspect water intake ports and clean if clogged fInspect clamp screw assemblyReplace swivel plate if bent or looseTo install new swivel plate remove screw and old plateApply OMC Locquic Primer Part No384884 to the threads of the screw and allow it to dry four to five minutesThen apply OMC Ultra Lock Part No388517 to threadsInstall new swivel plate with screw and tighten to torque specified in Section 2gInspect propeller for damage caused by striking underwater obstructions If bent, crackedor broken, replace propellerCheck rubber slip clutch and replace if worn or deterioratedNicks on propeller blades may be removed with file cPlace shift rod in bellcrank hole and secure with cotter pin dInstall shift lever in housing, slide washer and bell crank onto shaft, and install set screwSee Figure 6-21eInstall steering friction plateSee Figure 6-22
