INSTALLATION aInstall the power pack ground wire, and position the wire so there will be no pull (stretch) when the power pack is installedExcessive pull on the ground wire could result in ignition failureSee Figure -44bMount the power pack and tighten the screws to the torque specified in Section 2,NOTE Carefully align the connector halves during assembly to provide proper terminal contactcReconnect the three wire and four wire connectors, and secure each connector with retainer IGNITION COIL REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL aSeparate the three wire connector between the power pack and ignition coilsbTwist and pull on the cover to remove the high tension lead from the spark plugSee Figure 4-46cRelease the ignition coil wires from the support clamp, and remove the coil mounting screwsdRemove the ignition coil terminal from the three wire connectorINST ALLATION aInsert the ignition coil terminal into the three wire connectorbMount the ignition coil to the eng'ine with the lockwasher between the engine block and ground wire connectorSee Figure 4-47cSecure the high tension lead to the spark plug1Clamp 2Mounting screws
