BREAK-IN The 50:1 mixture is used during break-inUse only our 50:1 LUBRICANT or other BIA certified TC-W lubricantsOPERATION (FIRST HOUR): For the first 5-10 minutes, operate engine at fast idleFor remainder of first hour, do not operate engine over 3500 rpm or one-half throttle (approximate)NOTE With easy planing boats, bring the boat into planing position with full power and then immediately reduce the throttle setting to approximately 3500 rpm (one-half throttle)BE SURE boat maintains planing attitude at this throttle settingOPERATION (SECOND HOUR): Bring boat into planing attitude and reduce power to 4500 rpm or three-quarter throttle (approximate) while maintaining planing attitudeAt intervals during the second hour, apply full power for periods of one to two minutes, returning throttle to original setting (4500 rpm three-quarter throttle) for cooling periodAVOid continuous full throttle operation for extended periods during the next eight hours
TUNE-UP PROCEDURE
When an owner brings motor to you for tune-up, or for some minor operating malfunction, the following procedure should be used as guide to determine the cause of the malfunctionWrite down the owner's commentsKeep an accurate card file on your service shop operationEach service operation should be on record as to the: OWNER'S NAME DATE MODEL NOSERIAL NONATURE OF COMPLAINT NATURE OF WORK PERFORMED COST TO THE OWNER WAS WORK PERFORMED UNDER WARRANTY After writing down the owner's comments, check the motor visually and begin systematic tune-up procedureConsult the Trouble Check Chart to find the causes of any malfunction which may be discovered when tuning up the motorSAFETY WARNING
