1Install leaf plate and intake manifold using new gasketsBe sure to install gaskets correctlyTorque screws to specifications in Section 2 Ilill NOTE
Use suitable tool to align rubber mount washers with threaded holes in lower motor covercPosition small washers and then large washers over rubber mounts and install screwsdInstall exhaust to power head screws with two longer screws in aft holesTighten to specifications in Section 2eInstall gearcase as described in Section 6fLubricate cross shaft through two fittings with OMC Anti-Corrosion LubeSee Figure 6-7
INSTALLATION OF POWERHEAD
NOTE Remove gearcase as described in Section 6This is to aid in guiding water tube into water pump grommetaApply OMC Adhesive "M" (Part Number 318535) to rubber mount washersPosition rubber mounts and sleeves in power head mounting pointsPlace large washers over mounting holes in lower motor coverPlace three small washers over the large washersbApply Permatex #2 to crankcase head in area shownSee Figure 5-45Clean gasket surfaces and apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to face of exhaust housingCoat driveshaft splines with OMC Moly LubeDo not coat top surface of shaft as lubricant here may prevent seating of driveshaft in crankshaftCarefully lower power head onto exhaust housing
