3-8 NEEDLE VALVE ADJUSTMENT High-Speed Needle aSeat high and low-speed needles gentlyDO NOT force needles against seatsBack out high-speed needle 34 turn, and back out lowspeed needle 1-1 turnsbStart engineDNOTE Allow engine to reach normal operating temperature by running in tank with proper test propeller at one-half throttlecRun engine at full throttleUsing tachometer, adjust high-speed needle until best high-speed setting is obtainedLow-Speed Needle

High-speed needle must be correctly adjusted as described above before low-speed needle adjustment is begunaWith motor at operating temperature, run at slow speed (700-750 rpm) with test propeller in tank or on boat with standard propellerAdjust low-speed knob until highest rpm reading and smoothest performance are obtainedAllow 15 seconds for motor to respond to adjustmentAdjustment of high-speed needle MUST be repeated after final low-speed needle adjustmentbInstall low speed knob pointer up Install high speed knob pointez:down(Be sure needle position is not disturbed cWith cam and needle valves correctly adjusted motor should idle at 650 rpmU
