starting speedIf the starting speed is too low the engine may be hard to startIf it is too high, the engine may exceed the recommended operating RPMTo check adjustment proceed as follows: 1Move the warm-up lever all the way up to START positionThe mark adjacent to the word START on the throttle cam should point directly at the center of the throttle lever rollerSee insert, Figure 8-3 1Place control lever in NEUTRAL and warm-up lever in START positionRemove three screws and access coverSee Figure 8-42Remove three screws and hardware attaching control to boat

CONTROL CABLE REPLACEMENT
2If adjustment is required: Lower the warm-up lever to RUN positionAdjust as necessary by turning the warm-up lever adjustment screw clockwise to retard or counterclockwise to advance the starting speed3To check adjustment repeat Step 1SAFETY WARNING In order to insure positive retention in the caSing guide, the cables selected must have annealed core wire endsCables which have not been annealed may be too hard to bend under the caSing guide retaining screws and may come loose during operation of the engineFor satisfactory operation, we recommend OMC cables or ones of equal qualityOMC cables have annealed core wire ends, sealed cable ends and lifetime lubricationIf you do not select OMC cables make sure the cables used have all three of these important features
