Connect the high tension lead wires to the spark plugsMake sure that the spring Clips in the spark plug lead covers make firm contact with the spark plug terminalsSee Figure 4- 5 1Stator 2Sensor and timer assembly (sensor coils are potted)
Figure 4-4BStator Sensor and Timer 9Returning to the first pole (slot) of the sensor magnet, in an additional 30 of travel, it will pass sensor #5, developing positive pulse to turn on SC #5The capacitor's energy is discharged through the #5 ignition coil primary, through SCR #5 and back to the capacitor, inducing high voltage into the ignition coil secondary, firing across the spark plug gap of cylinder #5SCR #5 returns to its non- conducting state and the capacitor is recharged10Again the second pole (slot) of the sensor magnet travels 90 further where it will pass sensor #6, developing positive pulse to turn on SCR #6The capacitor's energy is discharged through the #6 ignition coil primary through SCR #6 and back to the capacitor, inducing high voltage into the ignition coil secondary, firing across the spark plug gap of cylinder #6SCR #6 returns to its non-conducting state and the capacitor is rechargedThis all takes place in one revolution of the engine, and then the sequence begins all over again for the next revolution
