SYNCHRONIZING CARBURETOR AND TIMER LINKAGE To assure proper spark advance at all throttle settings, carburetor and timer must be synchronized after timer linkage has been reassembledFollow the instructions given in Section 4, page 4-19 "Synchronizing Carburetor and Timer Linkage aAdjust idle adjustment screw so motor will idle at 650 maximum rpm IN GEARSee Figure 3-35bOpen throttle to wide open position (upper carburetor throttle shaft roll pin against its stop)Adjust wide open throttle stop screw so that throttle valves are full open without strain on throttle shaftsSee Figure 3-35 Idle engine 15 seconds mllllmum in neutral and 15 seconds minimum in forward gear after all engine adjustments are completedCheck for flooding and leannessaccelerate rapidly after time has elapsed in forward gear and check for loading
