REMOVAL OF GEARCASE ,
The gearcase assembly may be removed from the exhaust housing and power head as follows: aDisconnect spark plug wiresbDrain lubricant from gearcasecSlide back the insulating sleeve on the shift cable wires so:the terminals between the shift cable and motor cable can be disconnectedTerminals are located on port side adjacent to power head exhaust bypass coverDisconnect terminalsSee Figure 6-7dRemove four screWsfrom front exhaust cover and aft inside of lower motor cover and remove rear exhaust coverSee Figure 6-8Apply oil or liquid soap to cable sleeve and push down through hole in exhaust housingeScribe mark on gearcase and adjustable trim tab soit can be reinstalled in the same positionRemove Allen screw and trim tabSee Figure 6-9fUsing 12 inch socket and short extension, remove screw from inof trim tab cavitySee Figure 6-9
