With the timing light connected to No1 cylinder, start the engine and set engine speed to 4300 to 4600 rpm (in gear)E MODELS WITH TIMING GRID ON RING GEAR GUARDThe straight timing mark on the flywheel must fall within the 22 mark on the ring gear guardSee Figure 4-9C MODELS WITH TIMING GRID ON FLYWHEELThe 22 mark on the flywheel must align with the timing pointerSee Figure 4-9AIf necessary, stop motor and move advance stop adjustment screw
