To test gearcase sealing, proceed as follows: 1Remove drain plug and screw in pressure test gaugeSee Figure 6-13Stevens Experimental pressure test gauge illustrated2Pump pressure up to 16-18 poundspressureGearcase must hold 16-18 pounds

aIf removed install vibration dampenersbInstall grommet and water tube in top end of housingSee Figure 6-12cAttach housing to swivel bracket and tighten clamp screws to torque specified in Section 2dUsing new gasket, install power headINSTALLATION OF GEARCASE
