8-2 CONTROL HOUSING FRICTION

DESCRIPTION
The Hydro-Electric Shift remote control unit is comprised of combination throttle and gearshift selection lever, starting and ignition switch, choke switch, motor temperature warning horn and warm-up speed control leverSee Figure 8-1An electric toggle switch is activated when the control lever is moved from Neutral to either Forward or Reverse pOSitionsThis action completes the electrical circuit energizing the neutral and reverse solenoid coils in the gear caseFor description of gearcase operation see Section 6A control cable connected between the remote control lever and the throttle control at the motor opens the throttle after the desired gearshift circuit is selectedA friction adjustment is provided to hold the gearshift and throttle lever in any given engine speed positionThe warm-up speed control lever opens the throttle sufficiently to start the engine and to control the fast idle speed for warm-up, after the engine has been startedAn adjustment screw is provided to prevent over advancing the warm-up speed control and opening the starter circuit safety switch on the motorA release button interlock prevents accidental advancement of the warm-up lever
