bRepeat same procedure for choke valves by manually closing choke valvesNOTE
If spring is removed from solenoid plunger, install by twisting

on to plunger 2-12 to 3-12 turns
See Figure 3-20BFor proper adjustment,

cReattach solenoid to air silencer basesee Figure 3-20A
dAdjust carburetors as described by the following adjustment proceduresTHROTTLE CAM ADJUSTMENT aTop scribe mark on throttle cam should align with center of cam follower roller as roller makes contact with camSee Figure 3-21bWith top scribe mark on throttle cam aligned with center of cam follower roller, loosen carburetor cam follower screwMove armto close throttle valves and retighten screwSee Figure 3-21SYNCHRONIZING CARBURETOR AND DISTRIBUTOR LINKAGE To assure proper spark advance at all throttle settings, carburetor and distributor must be synchronized after distributor linkage has been reassembledFollow the instructions given in Section 4, "Synchronizing Carburetor and Distributor Linkage LOW-SPEED NEEDLE aTurn each low-speed needle clockwise until needles seat gentlyDO NOT FORCEbTurn each low-speed needle counterclockwise 78 turnNOTE Allow motor to reach normal operating temperature by running in tank with test propeller at one-half throttle or slightly more before proceeding to next stepcWith motor at operating temperature, run at fast idle (700-750 rpm) with test propeller in tank or on boat IN GEARAdjust one low-speed needle at time until highest rpm and smoothest performance are obtainedAllow ample time for motor to respond to adjustmentFinal adjustment must be within 34 to turn openNOTE DO NOT disturb position of needlesdPress slow speed adjusting arms on slow speed needle valves to engage splines, making sure that each arm pOints outwardSee Figure 3-4eAdjust idle adjustment screw so motor will idle at 600 to 650 rpm IN GEARSee Figure 3-2144817
