4-7 dInstall liner on crankcaseBoss will fit groove in crankcase only when curved side of liner tab faces crankcaseSee Figure 4-7ePlace the armature plate in position over the bushing with liner tab in slot in armature plate hubMake sure that throttle cam follower is not caught under throttle control camInsert screw and tighten just enough to hold armature plate in selected position yet allow it to be turned without excessive effortConnect ground wirefCheck crankshaft and flywheel tapers for any traces of oilThis assembly must be perfectly dryswab tapered surfaces with solvent and blow dry with compressed airInspect both tapers for burrs or nicks 6 1036
DO NOT permit solvent used to clean tapers to wash oil out of oiler wickgReplace flywheelCheck for spark by connecting the spark plug high tension lead to spark checker (Stevens Experimental CoPart #S-21 or S-13), and cranking the engine with ropeTighten flywheel nut to torque specified in Section 2hConnect the high tension lead wire to the spark plug, and insert grommet in slot in cylinder headMake sure that the terminal in the spark plug lead cover makes firm contact with the spark plug terminalSee Figure 4-2
