bApply coat of OMC Type "A" lubricant to the magneto support and retaining ring, and attach to power headMake certain retaining ring lip is installed upAlign screw holes of the magneto support ring to correspond to the position of the magnetoSee Figure 4-18Place retainer washer over crankshaft as shown in Figure 4-18AAlign slots in washer with threaded holes in retaining ringDO NOT add oil or grease to the oiler wick on the magnetocPlace magneto in position over crankshaft, being careful not to damage breaker arms on camDo not bend cam followerTighten four Phillips head screwsdReplace armature link spring and washereCheck breaker point setting as described under "Breaker Point Adjustment"fCheck crankshaft and flywheel tapers for any traces of oilThis assembly must be perfectly dry swab tapered surfaces with solvent and blow dry with compressed airInspect both tapers for burrs or nicks g Replace flywheelCheck for spark on each cylinder by connecting the spark plug high tension leads to spark checker (Stevens Experimental CoPart #S-21 or S-13), and cranking the engine with ropeTighten flywheel nut to torque specified in Section 2hReplace starter assembly, and attach with three screwsiReinstall starter locking lever with attaching screwReinstall locking lever springSee Figure 4-3jConnect the high tension lead wires to the spark plugsMake sure that the spring clips in the spark plug lead covers make firm contact with the spark plug terminalsSee Figure 4-1
