DESCRIPTION
The complete electrical system is made up of the ignition syst em, the starte system, the alternator charging ystem, and the storage batteryAls included the instrument and cable gr oup, See Figure 7- at end of Section 8, This section will cover the st arter system and the charging system, and battery maintenance
TROUBLESHOOTING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Trouble in the electrical syst oft en is first evidenced by failure of the starte to operate, nd may be caused by failur of anyone or more of the component covered in thi sectionII an ammeter does not indicat harging with the engine rwming, or if the battery fails to retain enough charge to consistently start the engine, the first things to check are the condition of the battery, polarity of the battery, and elect rical connections throughout the circuitA large percentage of electrical circuit as well as component failures are caused by loose or dirty electrical wiring conneCtions, especially in the st arter circuit Battery maintenance and cha rging system troubleshooting are covered belowStarte system troubleshooting is included in the Trouble Check Chart in Section 2
