NOTE Be sure pump cam faces away from pumpTurn shaft slightly to engage forward gear hub splinesiInstall the reverse gear, clutch and spring assembly on the propeller shaftNOTE Align splines with propeller shaftDo not force, if splines are aligned, gear should slip in placejInstall the rear coil and lead assembly in the gearcaseBefore inserting the coil into the gearcase, make sure lead is at top of coilMter the coil is installed, feed the coil lead up through its passageWith the coil installed, use an ohmmeter to check coil resistanceResistance should be ohms mClamp blue reverse coil lead to gearcase, and install thrust bearing, washer, plate, oil line bracket and oil lineAttach oil line bracket and thrust plate to gearcase with four hex head screwsnPlace extension to gearcase alignment ring on gearcase locating coil leads in front of gear case cavityoApply bead of Sealer 1000 around screw holes and machined surfaces of gearcase and gearcase extensionSee Figure 6-36pPlace seal protection sleeve over splined end of driveshaft and apply oil to sleeveSlide gearcase extension over sleeve and down driveshaft until coil leads can be connected to shift cableqConnect leads and slide insulating tubing over terminalsBe sure terminals are completely coveredrPush cable down into gear case and lower extension onto gearcaseBe sure cable or leads are not pinchedsAttach extension to gearcase with three hex head screws, two from top, one from bottomNOTE
