Connect the meter low ohms scale between the two yellow leadsSee Figure 7-19 and 7-20reading of 1 .2 (15 alternator) or 3 .2 (9 alternator) indicates the windings are good, and an infinite reading indicates the windings are openREPLACEMENT OF ALTERNATOR STATOR If windings are found to have failed, the stator assembly must replacedProceed as follows: Remove flywheel, using flywheel puller (Special #378103)See Section 5, Removal of Power HeadDisconnect stator lead connectorsSee Figure 7-21Remove three screws and lift stator from distributor See Figure 7-21

Place new stator in position and attach with three screwsUsing Locktite (screw tight) torque to 4860 inlbsReconnect stator lead connectors
