REASSEMBLV OF POWER HEAD EXHAUST HOUSING Make sure gasket surfaces of power head and power head adapter cleanPlace new gasket in position the power head adapterPlace power head exhaust housing adapter, using to avoid damage to splined ends of crankshaft and driveshaftSplines easily engaged bringing power head into position with the intake manifold facing slightly to port side of motor, and rotating power head until the splines engageDO NOT in any case c:tuse the driveshaft to rotated counterclockWise, as the water impeller vanesdamagedCheck cylinder heads for flatness surface plate, and resurfaceInstall cylinder heads, using
hInstall reverse cut-off spring with Shell greaseInstall distributor base, distributor rotor, rotor spring washer and stator assemblyCheck timirigSee Figure 4-16Replace flywheel and tighten flywheel nut to specified torqueAssembly of the power head is now complete except for installation of starter, thermostat assembly, leaf plate assembly, carburetor, fuel linkages and motor coverThese items assembled in sequence as outlined in other sections of this manualCheck carburetor adjustments (see Section 3) and linkage and timing adjustments (see Section 4)
