Connect the meter between the two yellow leadsSee Figures 7-20 and 7-21A reading of 1 ohm .2 (15 amp alternator) or ohms .2 (6 amp alternator) indicates the windings are good, and an infinite reading indicates the windings are openREPLACEMENT OF ALTERNATOR STATOR If windings are found to have failed, the stator as-
sembly must be replaced
Proceed as follows:
aRemove flywheel ring gear coverbRelease timing belt tension by loosening three screws attaching distributor bracket to power headcRemove flywheel, using flywheel puller (Special Tool378103)See Section 5, Removal of Power Head1.11697
