REMOVAL OF FUEL PUMP AND FILTER aDisconnect hoses from pump and filterTo assure correct reassembly, color code fuel hoses before disconnectingbRemove screws attaching pump and filter to power head, and remove pump and filter assemblies
cloth, as lint may stick to the parts and clog the passages or prevent the valves from seatingDissolve any gummy deposits with OMC Accessory Engine Cleaner (certain solvents will not dissolve these deposits)NOTE
It is recommended that new fuel filter el-
ement be installed when servicing the fuel filterdInspect pump diaphragm carefully for cracksReplace all gaskets and any worn or damaged partsIf leakage occurs at the core plugs in the fuel pump body, follow corrective measures outlined under "CORE PLUGS"
