REASSEMBLY OF CARBURETOR
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Reassemble the carburetor, paying particular attention to the following procedureKeep all dust, dirtand lint out of the carburetor during reassemblyBe sure that parts are clean and free from gum, varniSh, and corrosion when reassembling themReplace all gaskets and sealing washersDO NOT attempt to use original gaskets and wa Shersas leaks may develop after the engine is back in useCARBURETOR BODY Figure 3-19Removing Lead Shot AUTOMATIC CHOKE The choke solenoid requires very little attentionFor efficient operation, the plunger should be free from corrosion so that it can move freely in the solenoid hqusingIt is not necessary to lubricate the solenoid plunger since the oil film will only attract dust and cause sluggish plunger movementbBlow heat exchanger tube clean with compressed airIf carbon content within the tube is excessive, replace tubecAt inlet area of heat exchanger, foreign matter can collect, closing openingClean this area, being careful not to force the foreign matter farther into the heat exchangerDO NOT use compressed air to clean heat exchangerLEAF BLOCK ASSEMBLIES Disassemble leaf block assembliesSee Figure 3-20Special caution is necessary in disassembling the leaf block assembliesDO NOT damage or interchange the leavesThe leaves must be flat to maintain seal with the blockDO NOT under any circumstances bend or flex the leaves by handIt is advisable to clean, inspect, and immediately reassemble the leaf block assemblies, rather than leave them apart for reassembly later 3-8
