CLEANING, INSPECTION, AND REPAIR GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Clean all parts, except float, in solvent and blow dryDO NOT dry parts with cloth as lint may cause trouble in the reassembled carburetorBe sure all particles of gaskets are removed from gasket surfacesFlush out all passages in the carburetor body with solvent and remove any gummy deposits with OMC Accessory Engine Cleaner Certain solvents will not remove this gum which accumulates particularly in the float chamber and on the needle valvesFLOAT AND NEEDLE VALVES

needlesif the seat or the needle is damaged, both parts must be replacedUpon reassembly of the needles and seats always use new valve seat washers nd "0" ringsdMake sure the small holes in the orifice plugs are open and conform to the correct sizeCheck size and roundness with Number 52 drillLOW-SPEED NEEDLE VALVES Inspect the tapered end of the needle valves for grooves, nicksor scratchesreplace if necessarySee Figure 3-15bDO NOT attempt to alter the shape of the lowspeed needle valvesCARBURETOR BODY
