aWash parts in solvent such as Solvasol and dry with compressed air Inspect starter rope and discard if frayed cIf rope shows excessive wear, inspect pulley, rope guide hole in housing and rope anchor for sharp edges and rough surfacesRemove by filing and polishing with emery clothd Examine anchor pins in pulley and housing eCheck spindle friction springlinks, and pawlfInspect recoil spring for cracks and loss of tension
