f Wash machined faces of gearcase halvesCoat seal groove with Sealer 1000 and install new sealCoat face of bottom gearcase with Sealer 1000 to insure water- and oil-tight fitAlso apply sealer between screw holes and inside cavity of gearcase to prevent possible leakage through screw holesTrim ends of seal strip squarelyallowing about 132 inch overhang of the seal groove Touch up ends of seal with Sealer 1000gInstall lower gearcase(Be sure oil retainer housing fits on dowel in upper gearcase, and seal ends butt squarely against oil retainer housing and are not pinched between gearcase halves Insert both front and rear screws and tighten to bring gearcase halves togetherInsert shifter lever pivot pin through gearcase and leverTighten to specified torqueThen insert remaining screws (dip all screws in Perfect Seal #4) and tighten, beginning with center screws and alternating from side to side progressively towards endsTighten to specified torquehIf driveshaft bushing and seal have been removed, install bushing and new sealInstall driveshaft, twisting slightly to engage with splines in pinion geariInstall new seals in impeller hOUSing and coverPosition new impeller plate gasket and impeller plate on gearcase, and insert impeller key
