AUTOMA TIC CHOKE aThe automatic choke may require adjustment for leaner mixture in warm climates and possibly for richer mixture in cold climatesProper adjustment of the choke will assure easy starting and improve overall operation of the engine at slower speeds during the warm-up periodbBefore disturbing the original factory setting, scribe mark along the lean (L) side of the indexed quadrantThis line will serve as reference to the original setting after the quadrant has been movedcLoosen set screw and adjust the quadrant approximately three to five notches leaner or richerThe actual amount of adjustment will vary slightly, depending on temperature variations and also from one motor to anotherSee Figure 3-33 ,
