REASSEMBLY OF CARBURETOR GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Reassemble the carburetor, paying particular attenti on to the following procedure Keep all dust, dirt, and lint out of the carburetor during reassemblyBe sure that parts are clean and free from gum, varnish, and orrosion when reassembling themReplace all gaskets and "0" ringsDO NOT attempt to use original gaskets and "0" rings because leaks may develop after the engine is back in useCheck the Torque Chart in Section for correct torque recommendations during reassembly
dSet the inlet needles in place and install the floats on their hinge pinsMake certain floats do not bind on hinge pins
MAKE CERTAIN needle valves and seats have been installed in matched setseTurn chamber upside down, so weight of float closes needlesScribe pencil line parallel gasket surface 516", down entire length of float chamberWhere this line touches the top gasket surface measure down 916" to correct float level settingSee Figure 3-30fFasten the float chamber to the carburetor body with attaching screws
