1Remove the left and right caps from the tilt shaft CAP (2)
NOTE: Connect the steering link rod to the inside hole of the steering link plateWhen connecting the link rod with the cable end, turn the outboard motor and steering wheel to the port sideApply marine grease to the collar and sliding position of the link rod as shown before installation

318 24 UNF SELF-LOCKING NUT (2) 18 N-m (1.8 kgf-m, 13-lbf-ftl
2If the steering wheel is mounted on the starboard side, insert the steering cable through the hole in the tilt shaft on the starboard side and fix the cable with the cap nut
NOTE: Apply marine grease to the cable before installation3Install the sealed cap to the tilt shaft through the steering guide cable
