2SHIFT SHAFT aREMOVAL
1Remove the following:engine cover (P5-1 1
SHIFT ARM
11 SHIFT 2
COTTER PIN
- right engine under cover (P5-3)- ignition control module and neutral switch (P16-18)
2) Disconnect the neutral start cable from the shift shaft (P7-1)3) Remote control type only: Disconnect the remote control cables (P14-2)Loosen the shift arm pivot bolt (6 40 mm hexbolt) fullySpread the end of the cotter pin and remove and discard itRemove the washer and disconnect the link rod from the shift shaftReplace the cotter pin with new one when reassembly4) Shift the gear into the reverse position and loosen the lock nutDisconnect the shift rod from the shift rod by turning the adjusting nut
