Before this operation perform the following maintenanceIgnition timingSpark plugsValve clearanceCrankcase breatherIdle speed1) Remove the grommet (P5-2)2) Remove the cap and sealing washer3) Route the sampling tube through the tube joint installation hole and connect the tube end to the sampling probePinch the sampling tube using clip to avoid leaking exhaust gas4) Start the engine and run at 3,5004,000 min-' (rpm) for about minutes to warm up the engine until the engine temperature is 55 (131 4I0F)6 Run the outboard motor in an outboard test tank with the water at least 150 mm (6 in) above the anti-ventilation plate5) Connect the sampling tube to an analyzer for exhaust emission according to the manufacturer's instructions6) Remove the tube pinch to free sampling tube and measure value of CO, HC and COz at idleSTANDARD VALUE
