GEAR CASE OIL INSPECTIONOIL CHANGE
OIL INSPECTION
Place the outboard motor on level surface and position the outboard motor vertically (with the gear case level)Remove the oil level plug (A) and check whether gear case oil flows out of the gear caseWipe oil with shop towel If there is water in the oilthe water will flow out first when the drain plug bolt is removedor the oil will be milky colorIf the oil does not flow out, add oilInstall the oil level plug in the gear case and tighten the bolt securely
OIL CHANGE
Place the outboard motor on level surface and position the outboard motor vertically (with the engine level) Remove the oil level plug (A) and drain plug bolt (8), and drain the used oil in suitable containerAdd gear oil until it flows out of the oil level plug holeInstall commercially available 1.25 mm adapter (STV-334Y) (1) and gear case filler (STV-S33) (2) in the drain plug bolt holeGEAR OIL CAPACITY: 0.23 (0.49 US qt, 0.40 Imp qt) RECOMMENDED GEAR OIL: MARINE SAE 90 Hypoid gear oil API Service Classification (GL-4 or GL-5) After adding gear oilinstall the oil level plug and drain plug bolt
