BF5A PILOT SCREW REPLACEMENT
CAUTION
U extreme care when drilling Into the pilot screw plug to avoid damaging the pilot screw The pilot screw is factory preset in order to comply with EPA emission regulationsThe pilot screw plug is installed to prevent pilot screw misadjustment Do not attempt to remove the pilot screw for adjustmentThe pilot screw plug should not be removed unless the carburetor is overhauled Cover all openings with tape to keep particles out when the plug is drilled1) Center punch the pilot screw plug to center the drill point2) To prevent drilling into the pilot screw, attach drill stop mm (1{8 in) from the end of the mm (532 in) drill bitDrill into the ph,Jg center3) Thread self-tapping mm screw into the drilled plug and continue turning the screw driver until the plug rotates with the screw4) Pull on the screw head with pliers to remove plug5) Use compressed air to clean the pilot screw area and remove metal shavings6) Place the spring on the replacement pilot screw, and install it on the carburetor7) Turn the pilot screw in until it is lightly seated, then turn the screw out the required number of turnsPilot screw opening Pilot screw opening
