6FUEL TANK FILTER
Gasoline is flammable and explosive under certain conditionsDo not smoke or allow flames or sparks near the equipment while draining fuel Always work in well-ventilated area Wipe up any spilled gasoline immediately
1) Remove the fuel line connector by removing the two bolts2) Remove the fuel filter from the end of the fuel pickup pipe and clean it3) Installthe fuel filter screen and fuel line connector and tighten the bolts securely
7CARBURETOR

WITH TEST PROPELLER 1) Install test propeller on the propeller shaft and mount the outboard motor in water tank with the water level at least inches above the anticavitation plate2) Start the engine and let it idle until it reaches normal operating temperature3) Move the shift lever to the "FORWARD" position and turn the throttle stop screw in or out as necessary until the speci fied idle sPeed is obtainedIdle speed 1,300 100 rpm

WITH STANDARD PROPELLER With the outboard motor installed on boat in the water, run the engine with the standard propeller, and adjust idle speed as de scribed above WITH NO LOAD (SHIFT LEVER IN NEUTRAL)
