0 OUTBOARD MOTOR OPERATION Turn the ignition switch to START, make sure that the outboard motor startsCheck the engine noiseCheck if cooling water flows out from the water checking portCheck that the outboard motor runs smoothly at idleSnap and check the outboard motor responseCheck the emergency engine stop switch for proper operationLEAKS Make sure that there is no leaks from the fuel line connectionsCheck the outboard motor for water leaksCheck the exhaust system for gas leaks
9BREAK-IN PROCEDURES
The outboard motor break-in should be performed as follows, although it is usually done during the trial runsFor the initial 15 minutes: Run the outboard motor at idling or trolling speeds (i.ethe lowest possible speed)For the next 30 minutes: Run the outboard motor at 2,0003,000 min (rpm) (with 1030 of throttle)For the next the second 60 minutes: Run the outboard motor at 4,000 5080 of throttle)
