bIGNITION SYSTEM These outboard motors are equipped with an engine overrev limiter which is provided in the ignition control moduleThe overrev limiter is activated when the engine speed exceeds 6,300 rpmWhen activated the sparks are emitted to the No1, No2 and No3 cylindersThe overrev limiter may be activated under such conditions as; light propeller load or propeller ventilation
Hard Starting
1, Measure the spark plug gap and
perform the spark test (See base shop manual)
Standard plug: DR7EA (NGK), X22ESR-U (DENSO) Plug gap: 0.60.7 mm (0.24 0.28 in)
-No spark or weak spark 2Perform the spark test again using new spark plugsI
