5TROUBLESHOOTING aENGINE
Hard Starting
No fuel in the tank Sufficient fuel in the tank

Add fuel4
and check whether fuel reached the carburetorNot reaching the carburetor

Reaching the carburetor
Check for collapsed or pitched fuel lineCheck for clogged fuel tank breather hole: Close the tank and open the vent knob, listen for hissCheck for air leaks past primer bulbSqueeze the primer bulb and be sure that the fuel is reaching the carburetorCheck for clogged fuel filter, fuel tubes and connectorCheck the fuel pump
3Remove the spark plugs and check for wet or fouled electrode

Check for blockage in the carburetor port and nozzle

Check the automatic SE valve (P5-18 and 19)Clean the electrode and restart with the throttle 114 open or gradually opening widerIf excessively wet, check the carburetor for floodingIf flooding is severe, drain the carburetor and prime again, or check the carburetor float valve for leakage
