REMOTE CONTROL BOX
LOCATION
Select mounting locationwhich allows easy access and unobstructed and comfortable operation of the remote control leverMake sure there are no cable obstructing components between the remote control box and the outboard motor2Different types of control cables have different minimum bend radiiFollow the cable manufacturer's minimum bend radius recommendationsIf the cables selected have minimum bend radius of inches, there should be at least 16 in(400mm) bend diameter at the motorThe cable length must be calculated in such way that unrestricted operation is possible, even when the outboard motor is fully tilted UP and turned from full left to full rightIf the cable length is insufficient, the cable must be replaced with the correct length
The remote control box is normally mounted on the starboard side of the gunnelThe control lever can be reversed to accommodate port side or starboard helmconsole installationIt is recommended to mount the remote control box near comer of the front seatThe spacer plate will be positioned between the control box and the installation surface
