13SHIFT ROD ADJUSTMENT
121 "R" POSITION
Move the gearshift lever or remote control lever to the "R" positionLoosen the lock nut and adjusting nut connecting shift rod to shift rod BDisconnect shift rod from shift rod by backing off the adjusting nutBack off the adjusting nut until it is approximately mm (0.1 in) above the top of shift rod BTurn the lock nut on shift rod to obtain mm (0.3 in) between the top of the lock nut and the top of shift rod as shownThread the adjusting nut onto shift rod until the adjusting nut comes in contact with the lock nutWhen the adjusting nut contacts the lock nut, tighten the lock nut and adjusting nut togetherAfter adjustment, be sure that the gearshift lever or remote control lever moves smoothly into all positions
