Gasoline flammable and explosive under certain conditionsDo not smoke or allow flames or sparks near the outboard motor while draining fuelAlways work in well-ventilated areaBe sure to store drained fuel in safe containerBe careful not to spill fuelFuel vapor or spilled fuel may ignite; Wipe up any spilled fuel immediately, and make sure the area is dry before starting the engine1)

Remove the engine cover, recoil starter, two mm cap nuts, and fuel tankRemove the choke rod, throttle cable, 18 mm flange bolt, and air chamberDisconnect the engine switch leads, spark plug cap and remove the 20 mm boltRemove the spark plug and fan cover grommet
