THRUST CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT (LCD and XCD types only) Adjust the thrust clearance after replacing the forward bevel gear shim1) Be sure that the bearing holder assembly is tightened against the propeller shaft holder to the specified torque securely (P12-21 of the base shop manual)Note that the shift slider and the clutch shifter are not mounted2) Set the propeller shaft holder assembly on the fixing tool as shown, and tighten with the bolts securely (P.12-19 of the base shop manual)
3) Attach the tip of the dial gauge to the propeller shaft end perpendicularly4) Move the propeller shaft up and down and read the runout of the dial gaugeIt should be within the specified range
