Cooling system Check to see if water comes out of the water check pipeIf vater comes out, the water pump is operatingVibration If the unit vibrates excessively, check all tightening points for loosenessCheck for abnormal noiseThrottle stop mechanism Check the throttle stop mechanism for proper operation(See page Fuel pump Disconnect the fuel tube and check if the fuel flow is adequateEngine switch Make sure that the engine stops when the engine switch is pushedFuel stop mechanism Do not stop the engine by disconnecting the fuel connectorThis method of inspection should not be usedBut the fuel stop lever should be examined for proper operationWater and oil leak check Stop the engineRemove small amount of engine oil and gear oil, and check if the oils are mixed with waterIf water is observed in the engine oil, check it as follows1) Check for any source of the leaks2) Check the oil seal and sealants3) Check the performance of the thermostat4) Check the passage surface for accumulation of any dirt or dustCheck for fuel leaks Painted surfaces Check the painted surfaces for blistering and, if necessary, recondition as follows1) Sand the damaged surface smooth with #320400 sand paper2) Thoroughly wipe the surface with thinner3) Apply coat of the paint recommended by HONDA to the surface and dry it at temperature of about 80 (176OF)Use heat lamps if necessary but do not an open flame Date of Issue: Feb1977 HONDA MOTOR CO LTDPage: 48Honda B75K2-B75K3 Outboard Motors Manual -
