2SHIFT SHAFT
aREMOVAL
1) Remove the following:engine cover (P5-1)- right engine under cover (P 5-2)- ignition control module and neutral switch (P 16-18)2) Disconnect the neutral start cable from the shift shaft (P7-9)
SHIFT ARM
WASHER PIVOT BOLT
3) Remote control type only: Disconnect the remote control cables (P 14-2)Loosen the shift arm pivot bolt (6 40 mm hexbolt) fully Spread the end of the mm cotter pin and remove discard itRemove the mm washer and disconnect the link rod from the shift shaftReplace the cotter pin with new one when reassem bl ing 4) Shift the gear into the reverse position and loosen the lock nutDisconnect the shift rod from the shift rod by turning the adjusting nut
