1) Check the pinion gear for wear or damage, replace if necessary2) Check the mating section of the vertical shaft and pinion gear for wear or damage, replace if necessary3) Measure the 0.0of the vertical shaft at the needle bearing or bushing section If the measurement is lower than the service limit, replace the vertical shaft and check the bushing or needle bearing in the gear case and water pump housing (p4-13)Standard Service limit
