InstallationCrankshaft 1Clean all gasket surfaces and crankcase parting line surfaces2Press seal in lower main bearing with garter
CApply bead of Loctite around outer surface of bearing Special Tool NoT 2963-1 5, Install crankcase seal as follows:
spring facing outusing seal installer, Special Tool NoT 8925 Press seal in until seal case is flush with end of bearingSealing lip and garter spring must face outFigure 42
AApply grease to two (2) crankcase seal grooves in crankshaft so that seal will stay in groove ,
S, Install one crankcase seal in each groove in crankshaftFigure 43,

6Install center main bearings as follows :
AInstall center main bearings on crankshaft with holes in bearing race between groove of snap ring on race and groove of crankcase seal on crankshaft SSecure race on crankshaft with snap ring being certain not to have gap of snap ring over fracture in main bearing raceFigure 44 SNAP RINGS (MUST COVER FRACTURES)
