1Internal pa rts have close tolerance, so it is most important that all parts, the work area, and your hands are clean 2With new or rehoned cylinders, the bores should be thoroughly scrubbed with warm soapy water using round bore brushDry thoroughly 3Follow torque valves closely when tightening screws Threads in aluminum castings are often damaged by over tightening 4When heat is called for in assembling press fit parts, heat gun is advisedOpen flame destroys protective coatings and paint5Coat cylinder walls with oil6Use only specified gasketsInstallationPiston Assembly INTAKE BAFFLE SIDE

5Push alignment pin through connecting rod Then install other spacer with small end towards inside of piston 6Push alignment pin through other spacer and through piston pin bore on other side of piston 7Install shim bar with end marked "310" between large end of fi rst spacer installed and connecting rod
1Install alignment (guide) pin from piston tool set, Special Tool NoT 2990, through one side of piston 2Install spacer on alignment pin with small end of spacer towards inside of piston Figure 36
