Two (2) smaller hex nuts securing starter relay leads do not have to be removed 6Remove ground cable from block7Disconnect voltage regulator by removing three (3) screws securing regulator to power head
OVERHAUL NOTE
Steps below cover removal and complete disassembly of the power head It is easier to remove as many components as possible before the power head is pulled (To remove power head and remove as few components as possible, omit steps in this section under RemovalCover Assemblies) RemovalElectrical Components
Leads do not have to be removed8Disconnect choke solenoid by removing green lead wire9Disconnect interlock switch as follows :

ARemove two (2) screws securing interlock switch to bracketBPull interlock switch with leads attached, under carburetors to port side10Disconnect thermoswitch by removing orange lead 11 Free C-D unit and coil by removing three (3) nuts securing C-D unit to power head 12Free distributor as follows :
