8Drive out two (2) locating dowel pins that position crankcase cover on cylinderFigure 229Pry crankcase cover from cylinder, using large screwdriver at each pry pointFigure 2310Remove connecting rod cap screws, using 12 point socketSpecial Tool NoT 2953 Figure 24 bearings Remove center main bearing races and caged rollersFigure 25 15Remove crankcase seals from grooves in crankshaft next to main bearings Figure 25 Be sure to group all components of each main bearing togetherdo not mix16To remove lower crankshaft sealreinstal lower main bearing assembly on end of crankshaft and insert screwdriver between seal and bea ri ng Twist screwdriver and pry seal out of bearing cage Figure

At no time should magnet be used on internal power head parts
Mark each cap as it is removed and or reinstall cap on connecting rod to keep track of which cylinder it came from 11 Remove cage halvesRemove crank pin roller bearings that can be reached
