6Drive out armature brush terminal assembly from housing 2Armature ground test
APlace armature in growler jaws and turn power switch to TEST position Figure 9BTouch one test lead to armature core, touch other lead to each commutator bar one at timeIf tes light glows on any bar, armature is grounded and must be replaced

Testing ArmatureIf inspection does not reveal the cause of failure, test the armature for shortsgrounds and balance Follow the test equipment manufacturer's procedure or use the following :
