2Inspect crankshaft and flywheel tapers for fretting and workingIf there is evidence of this condition, the flywheel bore must be lapped 3Lap flywheel as follows : AApply light coating of water base valve lapping compound (240 grit or finer) to tapered portion of crankshaft
BInstall flywheel on crankshaft and rotate flywheel several times gently back and forth about 1 turnDo not spin flywheel completely around crankshaft Figure 7CTurn flywheel 114 turn to new position and repeat Step BFigure 7Figure 6Removing Flywheel
